Kayla Rodriguez Graff
Co-founder & COO, SweetBio
Kayla Rodriguez Graff is an entrepreneur with a career spanning the retail, tech, and biotech industries. After spending 6 years at Target Corporation in Minnesota and then earning her MBA at Hult International Business School and completing a certification as a front end web developer in San Francisco, Kayla was chomping at the bit to leverage her diverse experience in the startup world. While in the valley, Kayla helped launched Kikfli – a video competition app where anyone, anywhere can compete, and SweetBio – the Memphis-based, Zeroto510 alum biotech startup revolutionizing the dental industry. Since moving full time to SweetBio in March 2015, Kayla is thrilled to have relocated to Memphis and excited for the future. MBA by design, web developer by heart, entrepreneur by spirit, Kayla lives by her mission to “challenge the norm by aspiring to inspire others”. SweetBio is a biotech startup revolutionizing dentistry with a “sweet” take on an oral surgery product. SweetBio has raised over $1 million to bring its product that leverages Manuka honey through FDA clearance and to commercialization.
Kayla also serves on several boards including Shelby County Mayor Luttrell’s Young Professional Board, American Cancer Society Young Professional Board, GeekedMemphis Advisory Board, Greater Memphis Chamber of Commerce SoundCheck Young Professionals board and formerly Mayor Strickland Transitional team. In her spare time, she supports the New Memphis Institute, STS mentoring for college students, and mentors aspiring entrepreneurs. Most importantly, Kayla is thrilled to have recently married her soul mate, Kevin, at her grandmother’s home in Puerto Rico.
